StubbyDog

StubbyDog is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), focused on changing public perceptions of pit bulls. Their vision is a world where every pit bull has the right to a good life. Their mission is to help people rediscover pit bulls as lifelong friends.

They are pretty cool.

And the picked me, Baby J, to be their Stubby Dog of the Week.

I hope this means I'll find a great forever home soon. One who thinks that being deaf is pretty cute, that playing endless fetch is fun, that toys are as necessary as food and water, and that cuddling should be a daily medicine.

Raining / Pouring

...and I wanted to play fetch so bad I consented to wear this ridiculous jacket. I know I said it was for dorks before but....well, I'm more mature now. Jackets are for smart kids who want to play fetch in the rain.

Less-Adoptable?

Over at Petfinder it is "Less-Adoptable Animal Week". Apparently, Petfinder lumps deaf dogs into the less-adoptable category. I guess it is nice for folks like me to get some attention but I thought I was a Peezy not Less-Adoptable?

Anyways, call me what you will but I'd love if you gave ME a great forever home or even adopted one of those other Less-Adoptable Animals and gave them a forever home.

Friends

My friend HOPE  the mastiff came to stay with us this weekend. She is like my foster brother, Ellery.... little scared of new things, especially people. But not scared of me! I hung near her crate and made sure she ate her meals and took good naps.

Her own foster family comes back from the beach tonight but I don't think I'd mind if she had to stay here for longer. She was pretty nice.

I really like my donations

I really like the toys that got donated to me.

So I thought I should tell you again.

I like toys.

And nice people and companies who donate them to good Peezy's like me.

I am also learning that if I like my toys I shouldn't kill them. Because then I don't have them anymore.

Clearly, I haven't yet learned about modesty.

Donations!

My fairy dogmother, Melanie who runs Mutts Matter, recently attended a neat event run by BlogPaws. She told my foster momma there was a lot of super cool stuff there. Melanie got a lot of great donations. So, my foster momma and my dude went up to pick out some things for me.

I got a lot of cool stuff like treats, bones, a dog bed, balls, blankets, some food, and even a jacket. I think jackets are for DORKS so I won't wear it. My mom says I should be appreciative and wear the damn jacket but I am being stubborn.

So, in thanks to my fairy dogmother and to the people at BlogPaws I wanted to show off me using some of my goods.

I even share with my foster sibs. Ellery likes to sleep with his toys. See the fun toy behind him? It might be one of my favorites.

I need Jackie O glasses!

...........Because I am famous, baby.

A nice volunteer lady wrote an article about me and it hit all the local Patch online papers in the last week or so.

See me here in Oakton: http://oakton.patch.com/articles/introducing-baby-j

And here in Mount Venron: http://mountvernon.patch.com/articles/mutts-matter-meet-baby-j

Okay, they are the same article. You don't need to read both.

But, please "recommend" or "share" or social media-tize me all over the place.

I sure hope I get a forever home soon.

One of the best things about me....is kind of gross

What is the kid's book? Everybody poops? Nobody wants to talk about it in public but everybody talks about it at some point in time.

Well, I am no different. No, I don't talk about poo. But, I do poo.

It has been storming here in DC for a few weeks. First earthquakes, then hurricanes, now thunderstorm monsoons. My mom says other dogs don't like the rain. They don't like their paws to get wet. They don't like to get their backs wet in the rain. So, the do their business all wrong and go potty in the house. What the what?!?!

Let me tell you something about me. I don't mind the rain at all. Not one bit. I don't mind muddy wet paws and I don't mind a wet back.

I also can't hear the thunder and the rain so near fear on my side. No whining with the thunder claps or barking all night.

And I got outside and poop in the rain. And that, my friends, makes me a HIGHLY adoptable dog.

And just to round out this post about gross things in the most appropriate way......(close your eyes if you are squeamish)
